Please note that due to the problem occuring the same way with the
printer directly connected to the USB of the Ubuntu machine or with the
printer on a Windows machine and accessing via Samba, this problem seems
not to be cause by the way how the printer is connected.

Can you please follow the instructions in "CUPS error_log" and
"Capturing print job data" of
