The Skype issue is now also solved for me, either with the Libv4l ppa as
I suggested or with v4l-utils from oneiric-proposed (version
0.8.5-3ubuntu2). I think I created my own problem with skype because the
first time I installed it, it wasn't from the partner repositories but
directly from the skype website as I used to do it before, and probably
that created a dependencies problem. After entirely removing skype and
installing the skype:i386 package, I get a perfect image using:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype

I strongly recommend to download skype from the partner repositories not
to make the same mistake as me.
