in installed 11.10 yesterday but it crashed and wouldn't reboot
properly: no launcher and no buttons/settings top rhs of the screen
but a permanent 'file' 'edit' menus on lhs. as i had 11.04 on disc and
had been running it ok for the month previously i decided to load
that but the installer crashed saying send syslog and partman to you
