Turbo Core may actually be working on the Phenom(tm) II X6, but with the
higher CPU frequency not indicated by any of the normal interfaces - see
below.

The A6-3400m "Llano" CPU has Turbo Core 2.0 and may need a 3.1 kernel.
Testing of an AMD FX-8150 "Bulldozer" CPU with Turbo Core 2.0 shows that
the higher CPU frequency is not indicated by any of the normal
interfaces, but it is definitely delivering an improvement in
performance in some of the benchmarks. It was shown to be mostly
beneficial for single-threaded tests or workloads that do not stress all
available CPU cores/modules. When all cores/modules were under load,
there was normally no difference in performance. The system power
consumption and CPU temperature also rose noticeably with this feature
enabled, suggesting the CPU is running at higher frequencies. See
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=amd_fx8150_features&num=1
for the full details.

A PPA of the 3.1.1 kernel can be found at http://kernel.ubuntu.com
