I have found a work-around for this issue. I opened /etc/pulse/default.pa and uncommented the load-module module- alsa-sink and load-module module-alsa-source lines.
Sound now works fine for me. I only have stereo speakers so I cannot test if this works for surround setups. ** Attachment added: "Working (for me) /etc/pulse/default.pa file for Audigy2 cards." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/886448/+attachment/2602329/+files/default.pa -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886448 Title: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum has no output from rear outputs.
