Wait, you are complaining that you can install MORE packages now?
That's a feature, not a bug and for example needed to be able to install
flash in ubuntu (cleanly - i should add).
If you don't want this, see apt.conf APT::Architectures or configure
dpkg (--foreign-architecture). Either way, these settings aren't set by
default by APT, but by other packages, so you want to talk to the
maintainers of those packages - but it's unlikely that multiarch is
reverted… (I think i read somewhere that it is set in
/etc/dpkg.cfg.d/multiarch, but without a ubuntu system i am not that
good at verifying this…)
