Public bug reported: I filed a bug report to LibreOffice about not printing documents correctly:
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42759 But, as it tourned out, the problem wasn't LibreOffice, but the CUPS in Ubuntu. If a PDF file is printed using lpr, or if I print a text from LibreOffice, I get wrong characters printed all over the page. But, If I print PDF from Evince, the printing is fine. LibreOffice uses lpr for printing, and is affected by this bug. Input (ODT) and output (PDF) files, together with photographs of printed pages are available in LibreOffice bug report, but, if needed, I can re- post them here. I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 32-bit, fully updated. I also installed today's cups update, but the problem remains. ** Affects: cups (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/893646 Title: lpr doesn't print PDF files correctly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/893646/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
