I did a run under kubuntu and pretty much everything worked fine, *except* the tests that require gstreamer's gconf elements. The package to enable this is gstreamer0.10-gconf. Maybe this should be added to Checkbox's depends or recommends. Based on the relationship between ubuntu-desktop and checkbox-gtk, I think checkbox should depends: on gstreamer0.10-gconf.
