Public bug reported:

When rendering an AVCHD video in order to burn it to a normal DVD the
rendering process hangs after sometimes 44%, sometimes 60%. These
results with the same movie. I tried ulimit -S unlimited but to no
avail. My version is newer than the already similar reported bugs so I
file a new bug. When the process hangs the remaining time increases
instead of going down as expected. The process never finishes and no
output file is created.
