Well, then, I'm sorry we weren't able to track down what was wrong. I'm
closing the bug, as it doesn't seem like we'll have sufficient
information, and anyway the problem wasn't vim's.
I don't know how you performed the upgrade, but I have heard, and
limited experience seems to corroborate, that updating via the GUI
update-manager is significantly more stable than updating via apt-get
dist-upgrade.
