** Description changed: Binary package hint: pulseaudio I am trying to run my 5.1 surround card as two independent stereo channels. In previous versions of Ubuntu (9.10 this still worked), I have done this by adding the following commands to my /etc/pulse/default.pa file. It appears to no longer work, allowing me to add the first remap, but always crashing after the second remap saying: E: sink.c: Assertion 'PA_SINK_INPUT_IS_LINKED(st)' failed at pulsecore/sink.c:1748, function pa_sink_check_suspend(). Aborting. The relevant part of config is: load-module module-remap-sink sink_name=headphones master=alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-surround-51 channels=2 master_channel_map=front-left,front-right channel_map=front-left,front-right remix=no update-sink-proplist headphones device.description=Headphones load-module module-remap-sink sink_name=external_speakers master=alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-surround-51 channels=2 master_channel_map=rear-left,rear-right channel_map=front-left,front-right remix=no update-sink-proplist external_speakers device.description=Speakers I can add one of these lines (either one), but adding the second will crash. I've attached my default.pa file and the logfile produced by attempting to start the pulseaudio service with -Cvvvv ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: pulseaudio 1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu14 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-21.32-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-21-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21.
