Hi, this seems to be the same problem as the one I'm having. I haven't been using the sound output every day, but this problem is less than a week old (and I have not done any major changes to the system during that time, just regular upgrades). The front headphone output works as it should, but connecting the same headphones to the rear output labelled "front" does not work. I have an HDMI output, but no way of testing it, sorry. I used $ ubuntu-bug audio to generate a report (but I'm not sure if the report has been uploaded -- please tell me how to do it if you need it).
