*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 48355 *** Annie: Thanks for your report. I'm afraid that one of your partitions seems to be too small to complete an Ubuntu desktop installation successfully. Bug 48355 notes that the partitioner should have warned you about this.
Jill, Bob: Both of your problems (definitely Bob's, possibly Jill's since that's a bizarre segmentation fault in something that has no reason to crash in that way) look to be problems reading from the CD; unfortunately some of the underlying kernel code doesn't deal with read errors terribly gracefully. My first reaction would be to check that the CD and the drive are clean (I've had good results with off-the-shelf cleaning kits) and to try burning the CD at a lower speed. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 48355 partitioner should warn about too small disk while autopartitioning (some_device) -- Installer Crashed (maybe not a ubiquity bug?) https://launchpad.net/bugs/49180 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
