@papukaija I've been reporting this bug and a lot of similar bugs) since 8.10 for various notebooks, laptops and netbooks. The list of affected systems I've reported is probably too long to mention.
I can confirm that they all work now. What fixed it for me (and all my friends and colleagues) was definitely Kernel 3.0.0. I'm sorry that I didn't report back since the 11.10 release.
