Public bug reported:

I was trying to reproduce a suspend/resume bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/570604

I have also posted there. Bashing will be understood :)

After not being able to reproduce the bug on my system, I then went on
testing laptop lid close/open. After closing/opening the lid, i was
"welcomed" by a black screen. Mouse/keyboard actions did nothing to get
rid of it. I did manage to shuffle to tty1 and log in there. I found it
easier to proceed from my desktop machine via ssh. SSH worked. I used
apport-cli to report this bug. I specified "compiz" because of last two
messages in dmesg

[ 673.571744] compiz[1697]: segfault at 58 ip 00007f9a88c0d6d1 sp
00007ffffde284b8 error 4 in libnvidia-glcore.so.280.13[7f9a87b5f000+15f4000]
[ 676.643173] compiz[2579]: segfault at 58 ip 00007fe6747496d1 sp
00007fffccd0e008 error 4 in libnvidia-glcore.so.280.13[7fe67369b000+15f4000]

apport-cli corrected me and selected "unity" instead of compiz
