Public bug reported: I am running Ubuntu 11.10 with the default screen lock. I have an HP Elitebook that I mount to a docking station at work. There appears to be an issue with the "Turn off after" feature of the screen lock and being docked.
For example, if I set "Turn off after" to 30 minutes, if I am away from my computer for more than 30 minutes, when I come back, then the window manager (Compiz) will have crashed. If I change it to 10 minutes, and come back in 15 minutes, then Compiz will have also crashed. However, if I return before it has attempted to shut the screen off, then everything is fine. Also, this doesn't seem to ever happen when hooked up to an external monitor or when the laptop is undocked. My "Screen" settings are currently set to: Turn off after: 1 hour Lock: On Lock screen after: Screen turns off I don't know if there is a way to log what has caused the Compiz crash, but this is a very annoying bug. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/897291 Title: Compiz Crashes When Screen is Locked and Laptop Docked To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/897291/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
