I can confirm this. The exact same happens to me. I can resize a gnome- terminal using the windowmaker decorators. Clicking the gnome resize triangle in the bottom-right of the terminal will cause the mouse misbehavior as you describe. Killing all gnome terminals (pkill -f gnome-terminal) restores mouse functionality.
