Public bug reported:

I'm able to connect to my router, and am assigned an IP, but can't ping the
router or anything else on the network, nor can it ping me.
The problem appears when I boot with a 3.0.0 kernel (-12 and -13 so far), but
it works fine when I boot with 2.6.38-11. The attached bug report is from
3.0.0-13-generic.

I'm not sure whether this is really a kernel issue. Please let me know
if there's any more information I can provide. I'd offer technical help,
but I've got no idea where to start.
