Thanks for your input.
The error you experienced is due to the fact that, when you tried to
download the updated package lists with "sudo apt-get update", they got
corrupted during the download.
Could you please open a terminal, type the commands
sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*
sudo mkdir -p /var/lib/apt/lists/partial
(do not worry if they return errors) and try running "sudo apt-get update"
again? Thanks!
