Leo, thanks so much for the merge! I've pushed it to precise. I had to
make one minor change to Makefile though. Ubuntu's previous patch had
changed an ifeq to an ifneq. And your merge dropped that bit. Didn't
really matter since other changes in the Makefile had sort of obsoleted
that change, but I made it ifneq again.
