Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. LTS support does not mean the
latest version, but in the case of vlc, it means that it's available for
community members to backport security fixes and high or critical bug
fixes for a period of 3 years. Several security patches have been
backported already. For a new version, you'll require a full backport,
so I 'm going to dupe this bug against a bug already open for
backporting a later vlc to lucid. Please report any other issues you
may find.
