When I conected my netbook to the internet the Ubuntu update app showed
a warnin about my tha my linux wass to old and without support, and ask
to update to a 'lucid lynx' or something like, did followed all the
instructions during the process, wile the update process it showed some
errors about some packages were not installed then it just close the
update window and when the computer retarted it showed a message about
file sistem not beign mountd and that a recovery shell is starting, but
every comand i type is useless or doesn't even recognised by the shell
help I can't aford to lose my files

Title:
Ubuntu linux prompted me to update to the lucid. lynx and after all
the process my computer can't start it shows a message about it can't
mout file sistem and starts the recovery shell , but i can not repair
or do anything else, help! I can't afford to loos my files
