Public bug reported:

Occasionally I'll see a continuous jitter from my touchpad - the mouse
pointer continuously jitters around by a small number of pixels (it does
stay in the same area of screen).

The only fix I have found is to suspend and resume - then the problem
goes away.

When this happened just now, I collected an evtest log from the touchpad, which
I will
attach (I did not touch the touchpad or buttons while the log was being
generated,
even though events are being generated continuously).

The device generating the events was this:

I: Bus=0011 Vendor=0002 Product=0007 Version=01b1
N: Name="SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad"
P: Phys=isa0060/serio1/input0
S: Sysfs=/devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input10
U: Uniq=
H: Handlers=mouse1 event10
B: PROP=5
B: EV=b
B: KEY=6420 10000 0 0 0 0
B: ABS=11000003

I'm using a thinkpad X220 using stock Oneiric, 64 bit.

The output from "xinput --list-props $id" is this (unfortunately I collected
this
*after* I had stopped the jitter by suspending and resuming the machine):
