Several things were happening here at once. splix is listed as a driver for this printer and Ubuntu supported and will not work unless the CMS profiles are installed.
Separately from that it looks like something is going on but I can't tell exactly what. Either the printer is losing its marbles, or the print data it is being sent causes it to enter a very confused state.
