Of course, either way /should/ work.  But if it makes a difference, it
would mean that the target itself enters a low power state from which it
is unable to resume due to a firmware bug.

Would
# echo 0 > /sys/class/scsi_disk/6:0:0:0/manage_start_stop
before suspend make a difference?
