Public bug reported:

I installed ubuntu via Wubi in a Windows 7 system. Then I downloaded
kubuntu-desktop, and he sound
disappeared, whether I logged thru gnome or kde.Both flash sounds and
vlc/amarok sounds disappeared.
Pulseaudio daemon will not start, pulseaudio -D returns an error message:
daemon cannot start. It
appears I am missing a padevchooser package, but rep will tell me that the
package is obsolete. Reinstall
of pulseaudio did not help.
