Thanks for your detailed bug report. I am afraid the type of change that
you want to have in Unity is not something that will happen this cycle
(or the next ;-)) The current commitment is to finish what have been
designed. Not to say there wont be changes in 12.04 there will be a lot
of improvements this cycle to Unity to make it more user friendly and
easy to use.
