Yup, you are right, it looks like BIOS in this machine is completely crapish and does work in random way (sometimes right, sometimes wrong). I have tried to reproduce battery autofixing but was unable. Is there any ACPI method which returns lot's of data but does not change anything in and could be used to clear ACPI buffers?
