Same problem  - WiFi reconnects all the time. I have found the problem after 
access-point reconfiguration and updates. Unfortunately I can't reproduce 
previous state.
Kernel 2.6.32-36-generic
Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS
on Dell E6500

Solved similar to comment #20
except, I don't have "options.conf" in "/etc/modprobe.d/"

So, in file
         /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
I have added the line
        options iwlagn 11n_disable=1 11n_disable50=1
