I could try that in a couple of days.

I write that because I've now installed swsusp which appears to override
the pm-hibernate that exhibits the behaviour mentioned. It's too early
to tell if swsusp makes a difference, I'll report on that soon. Only
after that is it a good idea to start testing with a new kernel.

Bottom line : this only happens every xx days and I don't know what is
causing it or how I can reproduce reliably.

Please give me feedback if I have the wrong view.
