I have the same problem on my Ubuntu 11.10 install. Dual booting Ubuntu 11.10 AMD64 and Windows 7 Professional x64. Windows is almost three times as fast a Ubuntu when booting. Also, logging out takes about a minute from pressing Logout to beeing able to login again.
That's on a SATAIII OCZ Vertex 3 drive, a Core i7 930 @ 2,8GHz and 12Gb of RAM! Since I'm reading on the net about the network-manager possibly having something to do with this, maybe it'll help stating i'm on a wired connection exclusively. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/844946 Title: 11.10 boots slower than Windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/844946/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
