Yeah, autoconf is a pain.

I can confirm that latest svn trunk builds with libpoppler 0.18 in
ubuntu precise. Buildlog attached (I may end up providing patches for
the compile time warnings, if time permits.)

Also, the package should be found in about 12 hours at
https://launchpad.net/~amoog/+archive/ppa
for Ubuntu precise i386/amd64.

I can also confirm that package working.
