What I wanted to say is:

there are thousands of Users affected, who still use Lucid or even
Maverick. So I would really badly recommend to the developers, that they
backport this fix, so that this WLAN-Chip comes back to work there. This
is really a high regression-potential!!! Please be fair, developers!!!
This is no deal, to leave these users with a broken WLAN.

But as development goes on, I would recommend to the affected users,
that they switch over to LinuxMint 11 or even to LinuxMint 12. There you
do not notice this bug anymore. This is the only way out of this.
