Public bug reported:

After waking my system up from suspend, I was using my Thinkpad x201 to
get some work done when the wireless card stopped responding. Looking
through dmesg, I noticed a LOT of these "deep sleep" messages:

[18509.558899] iwlagn 0000:02:00.0: MAC is in deep sleep!. CSR_GP_CNTRL =
0xFFFFFFFF
[18509.576084] iwlagn 0000:02:00.0: MAC is in deep sleep!. CSR_GP_CNTRL =
0xFFFFFFFF
[18509.593312] iwlagn 0000:02:00.0: MAC is in deep sleep!. CSR_GP_CNTRL =
0xFFFFFFFF
[18509.610502] iwlagn 0000:02:00.0: MAC is in deep sleep!. CSR_GP_CNTRL =
0xFFFFFFFF

Looking further through the dmesg output, I found this trace:
