apport-collect 903626 Done - I presume this was meant to be done while running 3.00.14 so I rebooted to 3.00.14 and ran apport-collect I also started to run some apps to collect the video errors and everything has started working now - so I am unable to reproduce the problems I had in the yesterday, although these had previously remained despite reboots. The only difference that I can think of is there were a few more updates yesterday - I don't recall what they were but didn't think them particularly relevant (acpi?).
