With kernel 3.0.0-14-generic on oneiric with a T410s this is the output
from xev when I press the micmute button. There is no event when I
release the key. Pressing the micmute button emits a KeyPress and a
KeyRelease event.

state 0x0, keycode 248 (keysym 0x0, NoSymbol), same_screen YES,

As far as I known there is still no micmute shortcut defined in gnome3.
