Weird, I swear I replied to your comment... It doesn't seem to have
shown up. Anyway:

There are two issues with your comment:

1. There is no shortcut enabled there by default.
2. It doesn't work. This is because when a full-screen game takes control of
the keyboard, basically it eats all the keyboard events except a few special X
ones (ctrl-alt-backspace -- if it weren't disabled by ubuntu, and ctrl-alt-F1
et al). They key presses never make it to gnome's shortcut handler.

This is most certainly a bug (or at least a horrible usability one, akin
to cooperative multitasking). The game I've tested this with is
Gratuitous Space Battles, but it should work with virtually every full-
screen game, e.g. the many quake-based ones. Some of them make have
special alt-tab/alt-f4 handling code, but I guarantee if you set a weird
shortcut for "toggle fullscreen" it will not work!

Thanks for the interest in this bug though -- I'm surprised nobody has
been pissed off at it over the many years of its existence to provide a
fix. But then I guess there aren't many decent games for linux!

Cheers
