I have built a new version of tzdata with the following patch, and confirmed that I can now see Asia/Beijing as a choice from the gnome Date and Time chooser. In my opinion this fix is better than the patch in bug #228554 because rather than defining an new (partially incorrect) Beijing timezone, it just aliases it to the Shanghai timezone, in a similar way that America/New_York is aliased to EST5EDT.
This request is similar to bug #892370, except that this is a request to change it in tzdata and not in Ubiquity. ** Patch added: "beijing.diff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tzdata/+bug/905519/+attachment/2636514/+files/beijing.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/905519 Title: no Asia/BeiJing option in TimeZone To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tzdata/+bug/905519/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
