I am also unable to reproduce this bug, and when I test it I observe that the name of my phone is displayed. I'm using an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.
Alan, what model of iPhone are you using? I'm just taking a random guess here, but if it's an iPhone 4S, then it may be that some signature in the newer hardware is confusing Shotwell.
