In my case blacklisting acer_wmi with acpi_backlight=vendor on e725 was neccessary to have backlight control using fn-keys, xbacklight, power- manager, etc via intel_backlight interface. (Controls were inverted, I didn't try inverted-backlight kernel yet though)
