I have installed ubuntu standard , I believe (Dowloaded as a DVD-image).
I need to say, that I am not really familier with Ubunto or linux .
Until Yersterday I use Windows-XP and now I would try out Ubuntu..
After the ubuntu-installation I take a look for several packages wich could be
needful and have installed some.
Now I have two programs for video and both of them a not runnig ... So I try
to install the packages a second time and
got the Fail-messages.
I also tried to find packs for better showing the Harddisk and files etc...
and install some.....
As a "only user" of Windows , I can not say which Kernel I have and how it was
installed.
What is a status of filesystem ?
The first time I installed ubuntu, I could not use the complete Harddisk and
could not change the partions of the HD.
I decieded, to install it a second time and now I use the complete HD for
Ubuntu but have thiese new problems ...
With Windows I have had no problems to delete some files.....
Maybe unbuntu is to complicated for me.
I believe the CLVM-Pack is the one which disturb the system and so I try to
delete it.
The CLVM-file , I had found in the Data , but could not delete.
Maybe it would be the best, to formated the disk and install Ubuntu a third
time (and install no other packages)
Maybe I find out that I am to stupid to use Linux or ubuntu :-) .

what are you trying to install, what is the status of your disk layout,
are you using lvm or clvm or raid or just flat file systems. More
impostantly what is the status of the file system the packages are
trying to install to.
why is the executable path and source package being reported against
"gnome-system-monitor" ?
How do you have a 2.18.1 kernel in ubuntu 7.04 ?
Is your ubuntu install a standard 7.04 install ?
