In the initial update, only the browser plugin has been disabled by
removing the symlink from the alternatives system.

If a user already has the openjdk browser plugin installed, it will
automatically take over. If the user does not have openjdk browser
plugin installed, the next time they visit a site that requires a java
plugin, a popup will appear suggesting that the openjdk plugin get
automatically installed from the repository.
