First a correction of a mistake: The key which toggles Side Pane show /
no show in Thunar is F9.
I would suggest amendments the following three places:
In Thunar > View > Side Pane (menu):
add an entry in this menu with tick box as follows: [ ] Show Side Pane F9
In Thunar > Edit > Preferences > Side Pane (tab):
add an entry on this tab with tick box as follows: [ ] Sow Side Pane F9
In Thunar > Help > Contents (documentation):
add the following text to the documentation of the Side Pane in the two
places that deal with the Side Pane, namely
- in The File Manager Window > Customizing the Appearance, and
- in File Management Preferences > Views Preferences, under the heading
Side Pane Preferences:
"The Side Pane can be removed from view (switched off, not shown) and
restored (switched on, shown) using toggle key F9."
