I've just encountered this in the released ubuntu-11.10-alternate-i386 installer. The machine in question is an Acer Veriton 3600G (Pentium 4, ICH5 chipset) with a Hitachi-LG GCC-4481B E106 DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive. The message dialog asking for the disk had the title "Configuring pnm2ppa", though given that's a printer driver component, I suspect it's unrelated.
I swapped the drive for a Hitachi-LG GCC-8240B CD-RW drive, and the installation completed successfully with the same disc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/682159 Title: Cannot install Ubuntu-Server 10.04.1 32 bit using a NEC DVD_RW ND-35xx PATA DVD drive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/682159/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
