Public bug reported:
When the unity launcher is set to autohide, new windows still placed right of
the place the launcher would occupy. This results in a gap between the window
and the screens left edge (see window_placement_autohide_launcher.png) with
wastes screenspace.
This bug is probably a side effect of the fix for #688816, to prevent that
windows cause the launcher to hide.
Whereas this behaviour is correct for the other options, the use of autohide
implies that this space should be used for windows. Therefore the windows are
expected to be created directly on the left edge of the screen.
The system is Oneiric with unity.
