I have huawei E1552, lsusb after modeswitch:

Modem
In certain locations I see a lot of disconnections, the data
connection is just disconnected and I need to plug out and in the
modem to get it working again. This is with
0.36-0ubuntu0+ind1+r4091+201012121608.
I see this in certain locations, for example the place I'm in right
now disconnection happens within 30 minutes. Or if I'm on a car it
happens withing few minutes. But I don't see this at all in my home.
I'm guessing this has something to do with handover between base
stations.
The logs don't show anything obvious, just that ppp disconnection
happens:
