I am using 12.10 Precise. I logged in and saw that the LightDM theme was
still active. I gave the Gnome-settings daemon time to activate as it
sometimes corrects itself. I then got the Gnome-settings-daemon has
closed unexpectedly message. I upgraded the relevant library (libgdk-
pixbuf2.0-0) and logged out and back in to re-start the Gnome-settings
daemon which seemed to fix the problem.

I opened Chromium and was reading the BBC news website when the ubuntu-
sso-login closed unexpectedly messaged appeared. I was not attempting to
use the Ubuntu single sign-on function at the time. My system has
ubuntu-sso-client 1.4.0-0ubuntu1 which Synaptic lists as the latest
version. This is the first time that ubuntu-sso-login has closed
unexpectedly since I started using precise development branch (pre-alpha
1) and I use 12.10 as my daily work install. I did not have any
difficulty signing on to this site.

I am attaching the sso-client log file.
