Public bug reported:

So I don't know whether this is just me, but I just found out that triggering
the Activities overlay in one monitor, then dismissing it in another, both
using the hot (left-top) corner, bugs out the Activities button. The button
stays in its overlay-is-active state, until you reopen the overlay and close it
again properly.
In my tests, this only occured when I triggered the overlay on my main monitor
(with the top bar on it) and dismissed it on one of my secondary monitors.
