Could you detail the steps you followed to install Firefox 9?

You may have installed from a .tar.gz, the Firefox site makes 9.0.1
available in that format for Linux. However, .tar.gz packages are not
handled by Ubuntu's packaging system (software center and apt-get), and
thus the OS tools would show the version originally included with the
system. You may have ended up with either a bad installation of Firefox,
or two installed versions.

Anyway, if you let me know how you installed Firefox 9, I may be better
able to handle this bug report.
