Public bug reported:

This happens since 2 months, I think that has started after an upgrade
of 'Software Center'. I tried to downgrade Synaptic trying all versions
released in the last 12 months, I done the same with 'Ubuntu software
center'. No way to fix this problem by my-self. I remember that Synaptic
is not new on this specific problem. I remember 3 years a o I had the
same problem on a Debian, and after 1 year, again on Ubuntu. Always the
same problem wile typing in the quick search field. Way Synaptic i so
fragile on quick search? Does depend from Xapian? To me it is very
strange to have a so specific bug/error recursively every xx months. I
hope that someone can find a way to fix it, maybe for ever ;-)
